synopsis

A middle-aged sock vendor and his long-suffering other half venture out to the Hamptons to sell the next big thing in hosiery and undergarments. Although their sales pitch doesn't go quite as anticipated, Max and Marcy discover that there are more pressing matters at hand.

Alison Fraser (Marcy)

Fraser is a two time Tony Award nominee for playing Martha in The Secret Garden and Josefine in Romance/Romance, and received the first ever Barrymore Award for her portrayal of The Blonde in The Wilma Theatre's production of Gunmetal Blues. Other Broadway credits include Dorine in Tartuffe; Born Again, Helena in The Mystery of Edwin Drood, and Tessie Tura in Arthur Laurents's Gypsy starring Patti Lupone. She co-starred with Shirley Knight in the world premiere of Mr. Laurents's Come Back, Come Back, Wherever You Are at the George St. Playhouse, where she has also appeared in Lend Me A Tenor, Lips Together Teeth Apart, and Gunmetal Blues. She was a member of the company of Love, Loss and What I Wore. Last season, Fraser created the roles of The Matron (opposite Shirley Knight) in the world premiere of Tennessee Williams's last play In Masks Outrageous and Austere, Arsinoë in the world premiere of David Ives's The School for Lies directed by Walter Bobbie at Classic Stage Company, and Sister Walburga in the world premiere of Charles Busch's Off Broadway hit The Divine Sister.

Stephen Singer (Max) 

Stephen has appeared on Broadway in The Iceman Cometh, Gemini and As Is, and national tours of Lost in Yonkers and I'm Not Rappaport. Off-Broadway credits include God's Country, Ghost in the Machine, Tales from Hollywood and Good. TV and film credits include "The Sopranos", "New York Undercover," "Law and Order," "The Wright Verdicts," A Perfect Murder, Wrestling with Alligators, Don Juan DeMarco, Commandments, Ms. 45, A Price Above Rubies,Town and Country, The Happening, Love Life and All Good Things.

Stephen Rowe (Hank) 

Stephen has had an illustrious career on both stage and screen.  On Broadway, he has performed in The Goat, Frost/Nixon, Red, That Championship Season, and The Nerd.  Off-Broadway, he has performed in: Tiny Alice, O Jerusalem, A Picasso, The Normal Heart, and Coming of Age in Soho.  He is a founding member of the American Repertory Theater.  On the big screen, he has been seen in Steve Martin's The Pink Panther, Basic Instinct, Awake, Imaginary Heroes, Spinning Into Butter, and Christopher Guest's Attack of the 50 Foot Woman.  On television, he has been seen on such shows as "Law and Order", "Conviction", "ER", "Cheers", "Beverly Hills 90210", and "Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman."

Daniel Zimbler (Director, co-Writer)

Born and raised in South Africa, Daniel Zimbler is an award-winning director who works in comedy, horror and drama for the stage and screen. He is a graduate of Columbia University's MFA film program, where he has also taught undergraduate directing. Daniel's Off-Broadway theater directing credits include Wish I Had A Sylvia Plath (59E59 Theaters) and Southern Discomfort (SoHo Playhouse). His film credits include multi-award winning shorts EXIT (a period horror starring Julian Glover), CLANKETY CLANK, and ANDRE. His latest project UNDERSTUDIES is a mockumentary web series about life backstage on Broadway. It is scheduled for release in January 2014.

Elisabeth Gray (Writer)

“The talented writer and actress Elisabeth Gray” (The New Yorker) is a playwright and winner of the Fringe First Award for Innovative and Outstanding New Writing for her first play, the dark comedy Wish I Had a Sylvia Plath, which has gone on to have a successful productions Off-Broadway and around the globe, currently running in Norway. Her gothic comedy Southern Discomfort ran Off-Broadway this year after touring the US and the UK. She is co-creator, co-writer and star of the forthcoming web series UNDERSTUDIES.

Rob Cristiano (Producer)

Rob Cristiano is a Brooklyn-born filmmaker. He is the recipient of the 2013 Producer’s Guild Debra Hill Memorial Fellowship for emerging producers. Cristiano has produced eleven short films in a variety of genres ranging from science-fiction to dark comedy, including, Penny Dreadful (Official selection of over 60 int’l film fests, Audience Award Clermont-Ferrand Int’l Short Film Fest). Prior to enrolling at Columbia, Cristiano spent five years at MTV, where he produced DVDs of the most successful franchises in the history of the channel, including Beavis and Butt-head, Aeon Flux, and The State. He also worked as an assistant editor for numerous TV shows, as well as the feature-length doc The Redemption of General Butt-Naked (Winner - Best Cinematography, 2011 Sundance). www.RobCristiano.com

Mimi Jeffries (Producer)

Now with a Film MFA from Columbia University, Mimi has actively been involved in theatre and film as a writer, director, and producer since her youth. Her work as a writer has been featured at regional theatres including the Alabama Shakespeare Festival (Titus Andronicus as Performed by the Kindergarten Class of Woodside Elementary), Meadow Brook Theatre (Behind the Lines, Echoes of the Earth), and Boarshead Theatre (Echoes of the Earth). Mimi has produced several short films and recently finished production on the shorts Same Ghost Every Night (Producer, Fall 2010), I am John Wayne (Co-Producer, Fall 2010), and Lectern (Spring 2011).

Andres Karu (Cinematographer) 

Andres is known in the New York independent film scene both for his master cinematography and his chemistry with actors. In the past four years, Andres has photographed over a dozen short films, screening at major festivals such as Telluride, SXSW and Tribeca. His most recent short, I am John Wayne won best narrative short at Slamdance Film Festival "for it's unique storytelling, cinematography and performances". He has shot music videos for Kanye West, the Deftones and worked with various entertainers like Jessica Simpson, Tyra Banks, Janelle Monae and Terrence Howard.
